It’s that time of year again. Red balloons and images of Cupid are in every store you visit, your favorite radio stations are playing that mushy stuff and your girlfriend’s dog won’t stop humping your leg.
Yes, this means one thing: Valentine’s Day is approaching quickly. How will you show your love this year?
Hmmm…what to do…Stop! Toss out the traditional cliché idea that just went through your mind and take her away to one of the following romantic destinations. You’ll be glad you did.
Take her away to one of the sexiest cities in America. Miami’s pan-American mosaic and downright beautiful surroundings is full of culture and entertainment. Take her hand and step into a Hollywood romance. Start the evening over a romantic dinner at Prime 112 located near Miami’s South Beach. Have a little extra leave time? Hop on a cruise and head out to sea for a couple days and enjoy your romantic space. Miami is a very military-friendly and offers various restaurant and hotel discounts for active duty and career retired military.
You probably don’t think of Hawaii as being cheap but you’d be surprised how many awesome military discounts you can find in Hawaii. So just hop on a flight to Hawaii for a tropical getaway she’ll be sure to never forget! Hawaii’s breathtaking sunsets and incredible beaches are a sure place to spend some quality time with the one you love…or maybe even pop the question. Be sure to visit Bellow’s beach on Oahu, a world-class private beach for active duty and career retired military. Honolulu’s Hale Koa hotel is popular military only destination that has stunning sunset views.
Pack your bags and head to Telluride’s snow capped peaks for a night or two. Telluride is full of romantic bars and entertainment, my personal favorite restaurant is the New Sheridan Chop House. Hit the slopes at Telluride Ski Resort for a day of shredding powder snow and enjoying the awesome views of the Earth’s finest corners. Finish the day up with a couple’s massage and star gazing into space from a rooftop hot tub.
Texas Hill Country, Texas
The hills of Texas country is one of America’s hidden romantic secrets. Take a quick getaway, hop in the car and explore the two-lane roads between Austin and San Antonio. You’ll find rivers, lakes and lots of canyons that make a perfect view for a western Texas sunset. Spend a night at Wimberley for a Texas Hill Country village experience and the ideal spot to relax and recharge the batteries. Venture into San Antonio, considered to be Texas’ most romantic city. San Antonio’s Riverwalk is a Valentine’s Day hotspot. It’s minutes away from Randolph and Lackland AFB and has everything you need for a romantic night!
Las Vegas, Nevada
Celebrate Valentine’s Day under the lights of Las Vegas. A premier vacation destination for couples and new couples. The Fountains of Bellagio, a free show every 15 to 30 minutes is a choreographed water works display set to music. Expect a special Valentine’s Day performance for you and your lover to watch but be sure to find a space early for the best view. Step it up a level by riding the Eiffel Tower at Paris Las Vegas where you can catch a panoramic view of the Bellagio Fountains and also the perfect moment to propose. Military discounts are offered city-wide from resorts to cheap military flights for you and your loved one.
